Activities around town for Littles under age 10

Thanks to Aja, one of HSG's new helpers, for these activities!

YMCA play group. Monday's 10-11 and Thursdays 9-10. The gym is open and kids get to ride bikes, play ball, go on bounce track.... On Thursdays there is a story time after

Library
Tues. K9 buddies. Kids read to dogs.
Storytime Wed 11-12

This coming Sat and every first Saturday at Home Depot they offer free projects kids can build. 9-12

This Wed. and first Wed of the month the ScienceWorks in Ashland is free.

LEGO Robotics Afterschool Club

AT SCIENCEWORKS:
LEGO Robotics Afterschool Club Starts Oct 15
Join the challenge at the LEGO Robotics Olympics! Use Scratch programming to control LEGO NXT robots in this awesome 5 week session. This afterschool program is for LEGO robotics enthusiasts ages 9-14. The first session is Tuesdays 3:30-5:00, October 15 - November 12. Another 5 week session will start Nov 19. The cost is $25 per student, per session. Space is limited to 12 students per session.

"Engineering through the Ages" at ScienceWorks

Time Machine: Engineering Through the Ages at ScienceWorks


Build bridges in ancient Rome; launch yourself into the middle ages with catapults and jousting; be a renaissance man or woman with Leonardo da Vinci -- it's engineering through the ages!

Join us Presidents' Day weekend, Feb 18, 19 & 20 for a tour through time, from ancient days to the modern era and beyond! Take part in special hands-on activities and learn how some of our most amazing engineering concepts were created. Help us fill in the Engineering Timeline and predict what the next big idea will be!

Activities will include:

Sumo Robot Matches & Line Following Robots with SORSA Robots, all day Saturday & Sunday

Build a Parachute

Create Paper Airplanes

Cartesian Divers

Goddard Rockets

Keva Blocks

Presentations on the life-size DaVinci Cam Hammer constructed by the local OLLI chapter at ScienceWorks, 2pm each day

Super Fly! show, 1pm on Saturday & Sunday

and more!
