Shoestring Productions Theatrical Troupe informational meeting 9/6
CASTING CALL FOR ALL HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS AGES 12 TO 18(ish) YEARS OLD!!!!
The first Shoestring Productions Theatrical Troupe informational meeting is scheduled for September 6, 2012, 1:30 to 3:30 pm, at Rogue Valley Christian Church. This homeschool theatre group exists to provide a safe, secure environment in which young people can experience all aspects of theater. Students will develop their social skills, public speaking skills and creativity as well as confidence in their own abilities skills and talents. The Fall term tuition for three months is $200.00. Parents can pay out of pocket or use the options for gathering advertisements and sponsors to pay for tuition. Classes will be every Thursday at 1:30 to 4:30 pm after the September 6th meeting. In November, classes will be Thursdays and Fridays at 1:30 as preparation for the production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever become more intense. Date for the production has yet to be determined but we usually can book a church for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Parents please attend the informational meeting with your child. Workshop Weekend - JCHE School Year Kickoff! 9/7-8
Workshop Weekend - JCHE School Year Kickoff!
We will be having a dessert on Friday evening at 7:00 with Jonathan's topic being "Strength in Our Convictions: Eight Reasons Why Homeschooling is Worth It". Then on Saturday morning, starting at 10:00 a.m., Jonathan will present "Tired, Overworked, Underappreciated, and. . . Changing the World?", which is directed to the home school moms. At the same time there will be a Dads panel discussion with "seasoned" home school dads to encourage other dads on the journey. JCHE will then provide lunch (included in the price), and a final wrap up with our main speaker will be at 1:00 -"Speaking Out: Five Reasons Why I'm Glad to be a Homeschool Graduate".
A session for teens Saturday evening is still in the works. Jonathan and his wife Linnea will be speaking to them at this dessert gathering and giving lots of time for Q&A. Childcare will be provided on Saturday. Pricing is as follows (and includes your whole family):
For JCHE subscribers: Friday only - $5; Saturday only - $15.00; both Friday and Saturday - $20.00.
For non-subscribers: Friday only - $7; Saturday only - $18.00; both Friday and Saturday - $25.00.
