Performing Arts classes for Teens

Performing Arts classes for Teens - In this 6-week class, participants will discover how to choose and present a monologue. Students will also explore how to develop a scene with others while learning techniques of acting to advance their abilities within that scene. Taught by David Salsa of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, this workshop will give students a better understanding of how to prepare themselves for the stage. Ages 12-19. Story Theatre for ages 7-11

This will be a six-week workshop on basic acting that includes vocal work, theatre games, how to relate to other actors in a scene and performing skills. The class will culminate in the performance of a well-loved folktale.

Move Like An Actor or Telling a Story With Your Body
Saturdays, September 24, 2011 - October 29, 2011
10:30 a.m. — 12 p.m.
Room #284, Central High School on Oakdale in Medford
Tuition: $150

Instructor: Danielle Pecoff
Maximum: 15 students

In this class you will learn how to use your body to tell a story and convey emotion. Learn new skills through fun theater games and group activities. Participate in such activities as "Humanimals," "Emotion Scatter," and "Human Sculptures." In 90 minutes you will find yourself playing anything and everything from a jaguar, to a baby, to a witch, to a 92-year-old man. Come explore and have a blast.

Danielle Pecoff recent graduate of the Southern Oregon University Theater Arts Department. She has worked as a director/assistant director on seven projects including SOU's production of Icarus. She served as the Assistant Director for OCPA's West Side Story and Oliver musical theater camps. She worked as understudy during OSF's 2010 season as well as taught workshops for their education department. She has performed in over 30 productions.
